Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Sideways (“the App”) is a free one-thumb arcade drifting game for Android and iOS, published by RICHX S.R.L., a company registered in Satu Mare, Romania (“we”, “us”). RICHX S.R.L. is the data controller for the limited data described in this policy.

The App has no account and no login, shows no ads, and has no in-app purchases or payments of any kind.

2. On-device data

Your gameplay progress and your settings are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers and are removed when you uninstall the App.

3. Information we collect

• Anonymous usage events via Google Firebase Analytics (e.g. “app opened”, “run started”, “run finished”). As part of Google's standard Analytics collection this includes a random app-instance ID, your device model and operating system version, the app version, and your approximate country, derived from your IP address. Analytics does not receive your precise location.
• Crash reports via Google Firebase Crashlytics. When the App crashes, a report is sent with the stack trace, device state at the time of the crash (such as device model, OS version, free memory and disk space, orientation) and a random crash installation UUID.

We use this data only to understand how the game is played, to find and fix crashes, and to improve the App.

4. Information we do NOT collect

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information.
• Your precise location.
• Your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
• Any payment information. The App has no purchases.
• The advertising identifier. The App contains no ads and no advertising SDK.

5. Permissions the App uses

• Vibration — for haptic feedback during gameplay. No data is collected through it.
• Internet access — only to send the anonymous analytics events and crash reports described in section 3. The game itself plays fully offline.

6. Legal basis (GDPR)

We process analytics and crash data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in keeping the App stable and improving it. The data is minimal, does not identify you directly, and is never used for advertising or profiling.

7. Sharing and third-party services

We do not sell your data. The data in section 3 is shared only with Google (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC), which acts as our data processor for Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. Google may process data outside the EEA under the safeguards described in its terms. Review Google's privacy information for Firebase for details.

8. Data retention

Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months, per our Google Analytics data retention settings. Crashlytics crash reports are kept for 90 days. Progress and settings stay on your device until you uninstall the App.

9. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will remove it.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws (including in the UK and California) you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You can reset the analytics identifier at any time by uninstalling and reinstalling the App, and you can ask us to delete the analytics and crash data linked to your installation by following the steps on our data deletion page.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Romania this is the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP, dataprotection.ro).

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
